Anna Mae Byler, age 55 years, 11 months, and 22 days, went to be with her loving Shepherd and Saviour on May 7, 2022. She was born May 14th, 1966 to Earl and Ida Byler. Surviving is one daughter, Julie (fianc Billy Black), one son, Jacob (fianc Sierra Tucker), and 4 grandchildren, Isaiah, Chloe, Sophia, and Haley. Also surviving are 3 brothers; David (Married to Mary), Paul (Married to Darlene), Lester (Married to Jean), and 4 sisters; Mary Jane (Married to Ben) Schrock, Ruth Ann, Barbara (Married to Menno) Wagler, and Martha (Married to John) Byler. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister Rhoda (Married to Paul) Brenneman, 1 nephew, and 1 great-nephew. She bravely and courageously fought her battle with cancer for nearly 2 years. Throughout her sickness, she was always a joy to care for, with her smiles and "thank-yous" constantly expressed. Her love and concern for other people didnt change through her sickness. She was deeply concerned about leaving her children and grandchildren behind. She began caregiving when she was in her mid-twenties; taking care of her maternal grandmother, who had Alzheimer's, until her death in 1994. During that time she started doing foster care; tenderly caring for a number of babies and small children. She became very attached to these children and went through deep grief in giving them up. She was overjoyed for the privilege to adopt 2 children, and they have added much joy and purpose to her life. When her mother became ill with cancer, and could no longer care for herself, Anna Mae took her into her own home and cared for her very unselfishly until her death in 2010. She also cared for her father, before and after her mothers death until he died in 2012. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the many prayers, meals, and support given during this time of her illness and passing.
