Annie Elizabeth Gorrell Cartwright

Annie Elizabeth Gorrell Cartwright, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Her body is to be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.

Annie Gorrell Cartwright was born on June 24, 1943, in Joliet, Illinois, to the late James M. Gorrell and the late Juliabelle Harmon Gorrell. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Cartwright (Terry) Joyner of Paris; grandson, Jacob (Alexandra) Joyner of Stockton, California; great-grandchildren, Jack Joyner and Finn Joyner; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

Besides her parents, Annie is also preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Cartwright; sister, Gail Gorrell Tuso; and her brother, Roger M. Gorrell.

Mrs. Cartwright was a Christian by faith. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, reading, and crossword puzzles, as well as the “game show channel”.
