William Arthur "Art" Beechum, age 82 of Paris, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his residence. His funeral service will be Saturday, December 31st at 1:00 PM at McEvoy Funeral Home, 507 West Washington Street in Paris with Elder Leon White of the Church in Paris officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saturday, prior to the service at McEvoy Funeral Home. William Arthur Beechum was born November 5, 1940, in Paris, TN to the late Thurman Buford Beechum and the late Bessie Hamilton Beechum. Art was a truck driver, an auto body technician, a huge Yankee fan, an avid pool player, and he loved drag racing. Art is survived by two daughters: Loretta (Thomas) Taylor of Thomasville, NC, and Barbara (Gregory) Butts of Elmira Heights, NY; three sons: Wayne Beechum of Horsehead, NY, William "Bubba" Attaway, Sr., of Paris, TN, and Steven Thomas; grandchildren: Thomas Taylor and Robert Taylor; and very close friends: Heather & Jeff Dubay and Joe Hoofman. Besides his parents, Art was also preceded in death by a son, William Beechum in October of 1963; a sister, Lucylle Yeager; and a brother, Kenneth Beechum.
