She was born in Springville, TN to the late Cuterill and Winnie Clendenin Hicks. On April 1, 1952 she married Henry Leonard Thomas, he preceded April 28, 1996. Survived by a daughter: Susan (Danny Laird) Thomas, Jackson, TN; grandchildren: Sancha (Kevin Baumgardener) Wyatt and Lucus (Jennifer) Ragan and three great-grandchildren: Ashley Wyatt, Garrett Wyatt and Jacob Ragan. Preceded by a brother: James Earl Hicks.
