Barbara 'Babs' Burton Smith

Funeral service will be Wednesday April 21, 2010 3:00 PM at McEvoy Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Sulphur Well Cemetery, visitation 1:00 until service time. She is survived by her children; Barbara Sue Smith (Steve) Reed, Richmond, TX, Ruford "Chuck" Smith and Cynthia "Cindi" Smith Axtell of Houston, TX, grandchildren; Kathryn Weekley (Michael) Wilde, Waco, TX, Brandie Lakman, Sammamish, WA, Darryl Freeman, Honolulu, HI, Collen Axtel, Shawn Axtell, Colette Axtell(Brandon) Williams and Kelton Axtell all of Houston, TX, step-grandchildren; Rollin (Brooklyn) Reed, Stone Bluff, OK, Delanie Reed (Chris) Bossier, Pearland, TX, great grandchildren; Cole and Malia Lakman and Laila Williams, step-great-grandchildren; Madison and Collin Reed and Camryn Bossier. Preceded by her husband Ruford H. Smith, Jr, parents; Bessie Jane Clendenin and John Richard Burton, brothers; Louis, Davis, Richard Eugene and John Raymond Burton. She was a dedicated member and teacher of the Bible at Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston for many years.
