Barbara Byler Wagler

Barbara Byler Wagler, age 67, of Cottage Grove, Tennessee passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at her residence. Mrs. Wagler's funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday at Bethel Fellowship Mennonite Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is planned on Monday at the church from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. and then from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.

Barbara (Byler) Wagler, age 67 years, 10 months and 3 days, went home to be with her loving Savior on April 24, 2026

She was born June 21 1958 to Earl and Ida Byler. Surviving is her husband of 46 years, Menno Wagler. Four sons, Mervin (Wilma) Wagler, Lavern (Ruth) Wagler, Kevin Wagler, and Anthony (Bernice) Wagler. Two Daughters, Rosalyn Wagler, and Lois (Lovel) Mejia.

Grandchildren: Jeffrey, Jeremy, Melody, Darin, Wanda, Jaden, Randall, Landon, Kyle, Alayna, Leslie, Jamison, Erika, Mariah, Kiana, and Clark

Also surviving are 3 brothers; David ( Mary) Byler, Paul (Darlene) Byler, Lester (Jean) Byler, and 2 sisters; Mary Jane (Ben) Schrock, and Martha ( John) Byler. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Rhoda (Paul) Brenneman, Anna Mae Byler, and Ruth Ann Byler, two grandsons, Emmanuel Wagler and Karlin Wagler

She accepted the Lord as her Savior at a young age and remained faithful until He called her home. She was a member at the Bethel Fellowship Mennonite church.

She was a strong and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She loved her family deeply and her grandchildren were her world. Home was always a place of warmth and welcome, where people could gather, be cared for, and feel at ease, because she was there. Her gift of hospitality was very evident and she was always opening doors to others, even when she was tired. It was simply who she was. Serving, loving, sharing, giving.

For seven years, she bravely walked the difficult road of dementia. Though the illness took many things, it never took who she truly was. There remained a quiet strength, gentleness, and grace about her.

We take comfort in knowing she is now whole, her mind restored, and she’s in the presence of the Lord she loved. Her legacy of love and quiet strength will live on in all of us.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. - Psalm 116:15

We also want to especially thank her caregivers, who she loved dearly, Melissa Bell, Kathleen Yoder, Hannah Wengerd, and Beth Roberts, for all they did for her.

The family also wished to thank everyone for the kindness shown to us in so many ways thru this time. We greatly appreciate it, and pray that God bless you for it.
