Bettie R. Wade, age 86 of the Whitlock Community, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at her residence. Her funeral service will be graveside at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 3, 2021 at Birds Creek Cemetery with Gary Collier officiating. Burial will follow and there will be no public visitation. Bettie R. Wade was born August 5, 1934 in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Andrew Hurst and the late Shirley Hoskins Hurst. On December 22, 1957 she married Jimmie F. Wade and he survives in Whitlock. Bettie was a member of Birds Creek Baptist Church in Whitlock. She was a homemaker and she also worked at Walmart for 18 years. In addition to her husband, Bettie is also survived by her daughter, Shirley Wade of Whitlock; her son, John R. (Sarah) Wade of Murphysboro, IL; brother, Gene Hurst of Pineville, KY; three grandchildren: Jack Wade, Ben Wade and Angel Wade; and numerous nieces and nephews including Genea, Carla and Brian of Kentucky. Besides her parents, Bettie was also preceded in death by a son, James F. Wade on August 7, 2007.
