Mrs. Betty Holcomb, age 85 of Richmond, Texas formerly of Paris, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at The Village of The Heights in Houston, Texas. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 7, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bevil Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, December 6, 2017 and after 12:00 PM Thursday. Pallbearers will be Crosby Johnson, Mark Johnson, Jase Holcomb, Wayne King, Bob King, and Bob Evans. Betty King Holcomb was born July 27, 1932 in Paris, Tennessee to the late Lawrence Porter King and the late Lillian Pearl Pierce King. She is survived by a daughter, Gena (Mark) Johnson of Houston, TX; a son, Jason (Kristie) Holcomb of Centerton, AR; two brothers: Bobby King of Russell Springs, KY and Wayne King of Port Richey, FL; five grandchildren: Ashley Holcomb, Jase Holcomb, Catherine Johnson, Christine Johnson, and Crosby Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Holcomb was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Holcomb on June 18, 1967; a sister, Carolyn King Bullen on September 18, 2013; a sister, Lillian Joy King in infancy (1940); and three brothers: Dan, Horace, and Morris King. Betty lived in Nashville, TN and worked at Aladdin Industries for 21+years until 2001. She retired to Texas to be near her daughter and family where she volunteered at Memorial Herman Hospital and continued to work at HEB part time for 10 years. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Sugar Land, Texas. SERVICES
