Betty Jo Lemonds

Mrs. Betty Jo England Lemonds, age 82, of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at her residence. Her celebration of life service will be 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at McEvoy Funeral Home with her nephew, Gary Collier officiating. Named as honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and nephews, Nakisha Thompson, Clay England, Jody England, Stephen England, David Klockziem, Jeremy Merrell, Adam Merrell, Bryan Lenon, Ryan Lenon, and Donnie Lenon. Visitation is scheduled after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday until time of service. Betty Jo England Lemonds was born December 18, 1938 in Paris, Tennessee to the late Anderson England and the late Bertice Taylor England. She married James B. Lemonds and he preceded her in death October 9, 2008. She is survived by her daughters, Paula Merrell of Lainsburg, Michigan and Sheila Ashworth of Shelbyville, Tennessee; son, Evan (Lisa) Lemonds of Paris; brother, Billy England of Paris; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Betty is also preceded in death by her son in law, Jerry Merrell and brothers, Lewis "Junior" England and Dan England. Mrs. Lemonds was a longtime member of the Community of Christ Church in Paris. She worked at Holley Carburetor until the time of its closing and also sat with the elderly later in life. Betty enjoyed her trips to the casino with her daughter, fishing, camping and cooking for her family. The family requests that memorials for Betty Lemonds be made to the charity of your choice.
