Betty Jewel Carr Moody went to be with her Lord and Savior early Sunday morning, June 29, 2014. She was joyously reunited with her beloved husband of 70 years, Elliott. E. (Eddie) Moody, who preceded her January 1, 2013.
Betty was born October 30, 1925, in Murray, KY, to Addie (Clark) and Willie B. Carr. She was the youngest of four children: two brothers, Solan (Dean) Carr, Louis (Sue) Carr, and one sister, Phala (Chester) Sturdivant, all who preceded her in death. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was a loving and caring person whose pride and joy were her three sons and their families. The oldest son, William "Bill," and wife, Linda, are parents of Candise (Rusty) Farmer and Jon Paul (Erin) Moody. Jon Paul and Erin are parents of Carter and Blair Moody. Middle son, Harry "Tommy", and wife, Paulette, are parents of Ginger (Keith) Forrester and Carrye (Phillip) Jackson. Ginger and Keith have two sons, Maconnell and Grey. Carrye and Phillip are parents of Luke and Reed. Betty and Eddies youngest son is Richard "Rick" (Missy), who has three children, Madison, MaKenzie, and Gavin Moody.
Betty was a very active, vibrant lady who loved her community and country. She was always seen supporting her husband and family at ball games, public gatherings, and banquets. She opened her heart and arms to everyone, especially the compassionate staff of Moody Realty Company, which her late husband Eddie founded in 1956. She was blessed with many loyal friends who visited and encouraged her during her latter days of home confinement. She was also blessed with a supportive group of caregivers whose love and concern will always be remembered and appreciated.
