Betty Ricketts, age 72 of Paris passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at her residence. Her body is to be cremated and her memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 2, 2019 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Eugene McWherter of Gospel Light Ministries officiating.
Betty Ricketts was born on December 21, 1946 in Dresden, Tennessee to the late Clarence Watson and the late Ardell Darnell Watson. She was formerly married to Dennis L. Ricketts, Sr. of Cottage Grove, TN. She is survived by two daughters: Tressa (Paul) Lackey of Paris, TN and Gina Ricketts of Cottage Grove, TN; one son, Dennis (Jeanette) Ricketts, Jr. of Hollow Rock, TN; one sister, Sue (Sam) Baker of Gleason, TN; two brothers: Ray Watson of Henry, TN and Glyn (Brenda) Watson of Atwood, TN; twelve grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Smith; and a brother, Bobby Watson.
Ms. Ricketts loved fishing, word search and birds. She crocheted and quilted, made Barbie clothes for the grandchildren and made plenty of sweets for them as well. She was always a sassy little woman but to change her would not have worked for the family loved her just as she was. She believed in Our Father Above with her whole being. She was first saved at a little church in Jones Mill and later became a member of Union Friendship in Henry.
