Betty Jane Scott, age 87 of Paris, TN, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on May 17th, at 2:30pm. Born February 8th, 1930, in Auburn, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Luther Alexander Wilson and the late Lucy Calhoun Thompson. She was married September 8th, 1950, to David Freeman Scott, who proceeded her in death on January 1st, 2011. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Paris, Tennessee where she sang in the choir for over 25 years. She was a retired Library Aide from Henry County High School with over 25 years of service. She loved those she worked with and all the students she knew down through the years. She enjoyed her work there and hated to have to retire. Betty dearly loved her family and spending time with them. She loved to work in the garden and flowers were her favorite pastime. Singing in the choir for many years was her joy and her calling. And she loved her Church and friends there deeply. She never met a stranger. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 21st from 2pm-6pm at McEvoy Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Monday, May 22nd at 10am at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Carol Wade and Rev. Doug Scott Officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30pm at Auburn Cemetery, Auburn Kentucky. She leaves a daughter: Susan Scott Johnson of Paris; three sons: David Michael Scott of Shamong, N.J., Phillip Gregory (Patricia) Scott of Stuart, Fla., and Robert Douglas (Venissa Jill) Scott of Paris, Tennessee. One sister-in-law Annie Christine Scott Blaser of Riverhead, N.Y.; three grandchildren: Hansford Alexander Scott of Paris, TN., David Nicholas(Lauren) Scott of Cinnaminson, NJ and Isabelle Marie Scott, of Boston, MA. One great grandchild Layla Scott of Cinnaminson, NJ. Four stepgrandchildren: Melanie (Ronnie Jr.) Stinson of Hickory, Alecia (Brian) Webb of Mayfield, Amanda (Zack) Curtis of Mount Juliet Four great-stepgrandchildren: Laney Stinson of Hickory, Christopher Webb of Mayfield and Lauren and Eric Curtis, both of Mount Juliet; one niece: Tracey King of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one great niece Annabel Scott King of Brooklin, N.Y.
