Bill Carpenter, age 89 of Springville, TN passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at his residence. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Bill was born May 6, 1934, in Shelbyville, KY to the late Vernon J. Carpenter and the late Mayme Moffett Carpenter. On May 19, 1990, he married Frieda Bugg Carpenter and she survives in Springville, TN. Mr. Carpenter was a United States Army Veteran serving in Korea. He formerly worked for G.E. and later worked and retired from Emerson Electric. He liked fishing and being with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Bill is also survived by a daughter, Carol (Chris) Caldwell of Avon, IN; son, Scott (Janice) Bugg of Harrodsburg, KY; brother, Vernon Ray (Lois Ann) Carpenter of Frankfort, KY; two grandchildren: Brandy Caldwell of Avon, IN and Zachary (Justice) Bugg of Richmond, KY; three great-grandchildren: Micayla Ayers, Lahni Ayers, and Vanessa Bugg; Niece, Maria (Richard) Noble of Frankfort, KY; nephew, Mark (Emily) Carpenter of Ft. Worth, TX and great-nephew, Leo Ray Carpenter of Ft. Worth, TX.
