William David “Bill” Robinson, age 82 of Paris, TN, passed away in Nashville, TN on Saturday, May 16, 2026, following a brief illness.
Bill was born in Paris on March 15, 1944, to the late J.W. and Elizabeth "Tige" Robinson. On December 27, 1965, he married Nancy Jo Davis, who preceded him in death. Bill and Nancy were childhood sweethearts and were married for over 50 years.
A 1962 graduate of E.W. Grove High School, Bill joined the National Guard, and that fall began Radiography school at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN. Upon completion, he worked for Le Bonheur Children's Hospital and Methodist Hospital until his retirement in 1999. At the time of his retirement, he was the Administrative Director of Radiological Services for the Methodist Healthcare System.
As an avid outdoorsman who particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing, Bill made many lifelong friends and was known for his stories and shenanigans. He and Nancy traveled the United States and Europe and enjoyed many unique sites and adventures. He was especially proud of his granddaughters and took great interest in their work, academic, and extracurricular pursuits.
He will be missed on Wednesday nights at Jack’s Pool Room.
He is survived by his children, William Hunter Robinson of Memphis, TN, and Heidi Austin (Stephen) of Hendersonville, TN, and granddaughters Lillie Robinson, Caroline Austin, and Lindsey Austin.
In addition to his parents and wife, Nancy, Bill was also preceded in death by his brother, Jon Michael Robinson.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 23rd, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at McEvoy Funeral Home, located at 507 W Washington St in Paris, TN. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm with Brother Randy Miller officiating. Burial will be for immediate family only.
