Funeral service 11:30AM Friday, April 11th at First United Methodist Church in Paris with Dr. Rob Martin of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Visitation Friday 10:00AM until time of service at the church.
She was born in Cheatham County, TN to the late William Henry and Elizabeth Walker Elliott. On May 15, 1935 she married Kermit Kemp, he preceded December 7, 1974.
Survived by a son: Bill (Marilyn) Kemp, Jackson; daughter-in-law: Patsy Kemp; grandchildren: Jennifer Kemp, Amy (Jason) Covington, Elizabeth (Eric) Fellows, William (Jessica) Kemp; great-grandchildren: Eli McCorkle, Chaz Covington, Rainey Fellows, Ryan Fellows, Porter Fellows and Cash Kemp.
Preceded by a son: Elliott Kemp; sister: Cecil Elliott; brothers: Brantford Elliott and W.H. Elliott.
Mrs. Kemp graduated from Cheatham County High School and Austin Peay University with a Bachelors Degree in Education. She retired from teaching after 30 years, 28 of those years at Buchanan Elementary School. Mrs. Kemp was active at Buchanan Methodist Church and also at First United Methodist Church in Paris. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Paris Womans Club, Paris-Henry County Retired Teachers Association, Henry County Medical Center Auxiliary, Henry County Democratic Women, and Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She enjoyed reading crossword puzzles, needlework and cooking.
