Billy Joe Smith, age 85 of Paris, TN passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Henry County Healthcare Center. His body is to be cremated and a gravside celebration of life will be held on January 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Henry County Tabernacle Cemetery. Billy Joe Smith was born July 3, 1936, in Paris, TN to the late Joe Henry Smith and the late Grace Thompson Smith. On August 13, 1960, he married Nancy Webb Smith and she survives in Paris, TN. In addition to his wife, Billy Joe is also survived by his daughter, Shannon (Ronnie) French of Springville, TN; son Michael Joe Smith of Paris, TN; sister, Ira Faye Collins of Texas; brother, Guy (Sandra) Smith of Paris, TN; three grandchildren: Evan Smith, Leslie Smith, and Dillon French; and former daughter-in-law, Kim E. Smith of Thompson Station, TN. Besides his parents, Billy Joe was also preceded in death by a brother, Henry Miller Smith; and a grandchild, Zachary French. Mr. Smith was a Christian by faith. He was a family man who loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He worked and retired from Holley Carburetor formerly of Paris. Billy Joe was a longtime active member of the Masons and the Shriners.
