Billy Wayne Wilson, age 78 of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 at his residence. His private graveside funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Monday at Bowers Chapel Cemetery in Gibson County with retired Army officer Eddie Bray to officiate. Burial with military honors will follow the service. Billy Wayne Wilson was born August 22, 1941 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the late Gid Kirklin Wilson and the late Edith Suratt Wilson. He married Louise Wilson in 1982 and she preceded him in death on August 23, 2017. He is survived by his daughter, Catherine (Avery) Cobb of Ripley, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer and Destiny Cobb; sisters, Peggy Parker of Muscle Shoals, AL, Cinda Childress of Paris, TN, Brenda (Shilo) Neace and Deborah (Terry) Bennett, all of Milan, TN; brother, Roger Wilson of Cullman, AL; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Billy is also preceded in death by three sisters, Nelda Graves, Nancy Kramer, and Corinda Wilson; and three brothers, Harold, Frank, and Hardy "Rock" Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Viet Nam and was a Baptist by faith. Billy enjoyed sports, especially baseball where he was a true Cubs and Cardinals fan.
