Bobbie Jean Baucum, age 90 of Paris, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Henry County Medical Center. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2020 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Thomas Winchester officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00 PM Sunday until time of service. Pallbearers will be Luther Ray, Obie Copeland, Derrell Barker, Adrian Cole, Jay Taylor, and Eric Taylor. Bobbie Jean Elkins Baucum was born March 4, 1930 to the late Joseph Elbert Elkins and the late Ida Mae Kuykendall Elkins. On April 5, 1947 she married Owen Baucum and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2017. Mrs. Baucum is survived by her daughter, Margie (Alvin) Shankle of Paris, TN; grandchild, Heather (Luther) Ray of Paris, TN; great grandchildren: Ashlynn Ray and Alyssa (Obie Copeland) Ray; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Baucum was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Mrs. Baucum was a longtime member of Central Point Baptist Church. She worked and retired from Holly Carburetor formerly of Paris. Bobbie enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.
