Bruce Ivy, age 59 of Puryear, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. His celebration of life will be from 2:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, March 2nd at Puryear Baptist Church Life Center at 10060 U.S. Hwy 641 in Puryear, with his memorial service beginning at 3:00. Bruce Ivy was born January 30, 1965, in Linton, IN to the late Billy Carroll Ivy and the late Sarah Rose Lowrance Ivy. Bruce was a jack of all trades and master of none. He had a heart as big as Texas. Bruce is survived by daughter Sarah Marie Margaret McBride Luci of McKenzie; son, Bruce Allen Ivy, Jr. of McKenzie, TN; sisters: Sarah Hilt of Puryear, TN and Connie Highland of Quincy, IL; brother, Billy John Ivy of Buchanan, TN; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and some very special nieces and nephews, Brandy Allen Schmitz, Carol Rose Thompson, April Arnold, Faith Allen, and C.J. Allen; and special friend Carolyn Hatcher. Besides his parents, Bruce was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Lee "Little Bob" Ivy.
