Mr. Carl Redden Norwood, age 86, of Paris, TN, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Paris Health Care in Paris, TN. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in McEvoy Chapel with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery near Mansfield, TN. Randy Stephens, of Sulphur Well Church of Christ and Dr. Gary S. Collier will officiate. Pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews. Mr. Carl is survived by sisters; Lavern Throgmorton, Paris, TN, Frances (Gilbert) Francisco, Detroit, MI, brother; Clyde (Evelyn) Norwood, Detroit, MI and a sister-in-law, Mary Belle Norwood, Paris, TN. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a number of special caregivers. Carl is preceded in death by parents; James A. and Mary Aileen Norwood, sisters; Sarah Alexander, Mable Muzzall, Jewel Bomar, Annie Lou Muzzall and Estelle Norwood, brothers; Lester, Douglas, Freeman and Jesse Norwood. Mr. Norwood worked at Holley Carburetor Plant and retired after 38 years as a Testing Supervisor. He graduated from Springville High School and attended Murray State University for over 2 years. He served in WWII in the Army Air Corps for over 2 years. He was an artist, wood carver, fisherman, hunter and played golf.
