A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. He was born in Whitlock, TN to the late Alex and Bertha Steele Bennett. On August 17, 1981 he married Faye Arnold Bennett, she survives in Paris. Survived by a daughter: Julie Bennett, Memphis; step-daughters: Diana (BZ) French, Paris, Christie (Alan) Nichols, Paris; step-grandchildren: Jason Booth, Tara (Billy) Ward, Ethan and Lucas Nichols. Charles was a Baptist by faith and formerly attended Oak Hill Union Church.
