He was born in Whitlock, TN to the late Alex and Bertha Steele Bennett. On August 17, 1981 he married Faye Arnold Bennett, she survives in Paris.
Survived by a daughter: Julie Bennett, Memphis; step-daughters: Diana (BZ) French, Paris, Christie (Alan) Nichols, Paris; step-grandchildren: Jason Booth, Tara (Billy) Ward, Ethan and Lucas Nichols.
Charles was a Baptist by faith and formerly attended Oak Hill Union Church.
