Charles Dale Merrell, age 71 of Buchanan, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His body is to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Charles Dale Merrell was born August 2, 1948 in Paris, Tennessee to the late William B. Merrell and the late Mary Ruth Beasley Merrell. He was formerly married to Lois Cooper of Buchanan, TN. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a lifetime member of the Paris-Henry County Rescue Squad.
Besides his former wife, Mr. Merrell is also survived by two daughters: Kelly Biggs Corbitt of Buchanan and Missy (Jeremy) Mullis of Dexter, Georgia; his son, Matthew Dale (Heather) Merrell of Buchanan; seven grandchildren: Leighanne Biggs, Jessica Eubanks, Dylan Bush, Claire Merrell, Gunner Dale Merrell, Morgan Mullis, and Dalton Mullis; a great grandchild, BryLeigh Scott; two sisters: Norma (Roger) Carroll of Puryear and Barbara Holland Knight of Kenton, TN; three brothers: Leroy (Terrie) Merrell of Chicago, IL and Robert and Johnny Merrell both of Rockford, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides his parents, Mr. Merrell was also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Cable and a brother, William Carol Merrell.
