Ms. Cheryl D. Priest, age 70 of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Henry County Medical Center. Her body is to be cremated and a celebration of life will be planned for a later date. Cheryl Darlene McDermith Priest was born April 30, 1952 in Decatur, Illinois to the late Howard W. McDermith and Shirley Parks McDermith who survives in Paris. Cheryl is also survived by her son, Richard McDermith and his wife Paula of Monticello, Illinois; grandchildren, James and Wesley McDermith; sisters, Lori Taylor of Paris, Christie Paul and husband David of St. Joe, Illinois, and Debbie Shonkwiler and husband Jeff of Bement, Illinois; brothers, Ron McDermith and wife Carol of Paris and Denny McDermith of Como; and by her best friend Belinda Grimes of Paris. Cheryl was a dog lover and advocate. She adopted several rescue dogs and loved them like her children. She was a member of and attended the Christ Lutheran Church in Paris. Cheryl worded as a chef at many exclusive restaurants, including the Sand Bar on Anna Maria Island as head chef.
