Clara Mae Foster, age 83 of Paris, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Camden Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Her funeral service will be 3:30 PM Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Church of The Living God, 719 Gwen Street in Paris, with Rev. James Travis, Rev. Andrea Richardson, Rev. Mike Cowan and Rev. Tom Shields officiating. Visitation is scheduled at the church from 2:30 PM until time of service.
Clara Mae Foster was born February 8, 1937 in Whitlock, TN to the late Earl Ray and the late Bennie Miliken Ray. She is survived by a her daughter Cynthia Ray of Paris; her sons, Bobby Ray, Elvis Ray and Edward Ray all of Paris; 13 Grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; sister, Alla Faye Martin of Paris; brothers, Earl Ray, Jr. of Huntsville, AL and Lonnie Thomas of Paris, TN. Clara is also survived by a special cousin/sister, Helen Gutherie of Paris, several other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Ms. Foster is also preceded in death by three sisters, LaRue Humphrey, Georgia B. Long and Georgia Mary McNairl and three brothers, James Carl, Eddie Lee and Johnson Lee.
Ms. Foster attended Birds Creek Baptist Church at an early age and was a member of Church of The Living God since 1971. She was well known for her delicious cooking. Clara was also known as a very giving person who was always doing for others.
Her family also mentioned, "She did the best "bing to bing!!!".
