Dale A. Gladden, age 82 of Buchanan, Tennessee passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Henry County Medical Center. His funeral service will be 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Gary Collier and Tricia Trull officiating. Burial will follow the service in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled on Tuesday after 11:30 A.M. until time of service. Pallbearers will be Darrell Gargus, Lindore Hebert, Monte Belew, Bob Kenworthy, Robbie Eason, and Jesse Barnhill. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lloyd Champagne, Jim Terry, Lynn "Pup" Phelps, Kenny Linsman and Frank Hart.
Dale A. Gladden was born June 13, 1937 in Wathena, Kansas to the late James Gladden and the late Hattie Cable Gladden. He married Virginia Newhart Gladden and she preceded him in death on August 8, 1992. He is survived by his life partner, Linda Silampa of Buchanan; his daughter, April Gladden Barnhill (Darrell Gargus) of Paris; grandchildren, Jesse (Carrie) Barnhill and Kelsea (Patrick "Moe") Reagan; great-grandchildren, Cora Barnhill, Kase Reagan and Rorea Reagan; step-children, Lindore J. Hebert of Springville and Kim (Tommy) Millraney of Paris; step-grandchild, Thomas Millraney; and step-great grandchildren: William Cavalera and Alexander Cavalera.
Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Gladden is also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Roy Franklin Barnhill; his sister, Dorothy Flaherty; and by his brother, James "Jimmy" Gladden.
Mr. Gladden attended Buchanan Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam where he was a flight engineer and retired as Senior Chief Petty Officer with 20 years of service. Dale was also a private pilot and a flight instructor. He enjoyed motorcycling, fishing and in younger days was an avid softball player. Dale loved his family and most especially his grandchildren.
