Daniel Matthewson Vincent, Sr., age 71 of Paris, TN passed away Tuesday April 5, 2016 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Ashland City, TN. Funeral service 11:00AM Saturday April 9, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, 101 East Blythe Street in Paris with the Rev. Brian Wimberley officiating, burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Doug Vincent, Stuart Vincent, Chris Vincent, Dan Veazey, John Veazey and Tyler Vincent. Visitation 5:00 - 7:00PM Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home and after 10:30 AM Saturday at First United Methodist Church. He was born June 2, 1944 in Paris, TN to the late James Harry and Alice Gertrude Lasater Vincent. On July 5, 2002 he married Elaine Harding Vincent, she preceded February 28, 2009. Survived by a daughter: Heather Lynn Vincent, St. Petersburg, FL; sons: Daniel (Eve) Matthewson Vincent, Jr., Murfreesboro, TN, Michael (Caroline Carlisle) James Vincent, Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Shelby (John Paul) Swaim, Murfreesboro, TN, Tyler Vincent, Murfreesboro, TN, Samuel and Leah Vincent, Nashville, TN and Dylan Pepper, St. Petersburg, FL; great-grandchildren: Madison Paul, Colton Paul; sister-in-law: Sarah Ann Nealon Vincent; nieces and nephews: Genie (Ed) Tinsley, Doug Vincent, Stuart (Deborah) Vincent, Ali Looney, Christopher (Wendy) Vincent, Debi (Tommy) Wimberley, Dan (Minette) Veazey, Vicki (William) Veazey-Morris, John (Sid Stafford) Veazey and Natalie Norwood. Preceded by a sister: Viann Vincent Veazey and a brother: James "Jimmy" Harry Vincent, Jr. Dan will be remembered by family and friends for his love of UT football, his devotion to duck hunting and the outdoors, and most of all for his tender-heartedness and care for those whom he loved both far and near. Dan and his wife Elaine were dedicated members of the community in Paris, and he spent many hours learning its local history. Dans absence leaves a place in our hearts, but we are comforted knowing that he is finally at peace after a long illness and much suffering.
