David McCoy, age 82 of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at his residence. Private family services will be held later. David McCoy was born March 27, 1942, to the late Ralph David & Mabel Gooch McCoy. He was married to Joyce Pate McCoy who survives in Buchanan. David was a member of Henry Baptist Church and loved fishing, reading, and watching golf. Mr. McCoy stated that he would like to be remembered as a fisherman. In addition to his wife, David is also survived by his son, Benton Dodd; daughter, Anita (Scott) McKee; grandchildren: Benjamin (Savannah) McKee, Ivy (Kris) Sutton, Weston Dodd, and Tahlia Dodd; great-grandchildren: Knox & Jaylen McKee; sister, Becky Cathey; and brother, Douglas McCoy. Besides his parents, David was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Simone Dodd, a sister, Evelyn Patterson, and a brother, Steve McCoy.
