David Alan Norwood, age 44 of Gleason, formerly of Cottage Grove, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital ER in Martin. His funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dan Huggins of the Refuge Church in Union City officiating. Burial will follow services in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Charlie Norwood, Adam Pierce, Dustin Evans, Corbin McMillin, John Norwood, James Norwood, and Jerry Evans. Visitation is scheduled on Tuesday at McEvoy from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday after 12:00 P.M. until time of service. David Norwood was born July 14, 1975 in Paris, Tennessee. He is survived by his mother, Edna Barlow Norwood of Gleason; sisters, Amy Evans Norwood of Gleason and Becky (Mark) McMillin of Martin; brother, Chris Norwood of Cottage Grove; nieces, Katilyn Evans, Cassidy McMillin, and Courtney McMillin all of Martin; nephews, Dustin Evans and Hunter Evans both of Gleason, Corban McMillin of Martin, and Jay McMillin of Nashville; great-nephew, Jayse McMillin of Martin; and by his best friend, Jason Thompson of Cottage Grove. David is preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and a brother-in-law. Mr. Norwood worked in the lawn care industry in the Cottage Grove area for many years. David attended Cottage Grove Baptist Church. He dedicated his life two weeks ago when he was led to Jesus by his niece, Cassidy.
