David Freeman Scott, age 80, of Paris, TN, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Paris Health Care. His funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 10:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, Paris, TN, with a graveside service to be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday at Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, KY with military rites. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening at McEvoy Funeral Home from 4-8 PM.
David was married on September 8, 1950 to Betty Jane Wilson who survives.
Mr. Scott is also survived by a daughter; Susan (James) Johnson, Paris, TN, sons; David Michael Scott, Shamong, NJ, Phillip Gregory (Patricia) Scott, Stuart, FL, Robert Douglas (Venissa Jill) Scott, Crocker, MO, sister; Annie Christine Scott Blaser, Riverhead, NY, grandchildren; Hansford Scott, Crocker, MO, David Nicholas Scott, Shamong, NJ, Isabelle Marie Scott, Shamong, NJ, step grandchildren; Melanie (Ronnie Jr.) Hickory, KY, Alecia (Brian) Webb, Mayfield, KY, Amanda (Zack) Curtis, Mt. Juliet, TN, Amber Johnson, Foley, AL, great grandchildren; Laney Stinson, Hickory, KY, Christopher Webb, Mayfield, KY, Lauren and Eric Curtis, Mt. Juliet, TN, and a niece Tracey (Ben) King, Brooklyn, NY. He is preceded by parents; Hansford Douglas and Ruby Opal Reagle Scott, niece, Pat Gregory, nephew, Scott Blaser.
David was a graduate of Iowa State, and worked as a forester and hardwood lumber purchaser in the timber industry all his life. Mr. Scott was an Army Veteran of the Korean War Era, member of the First Presbyterian Church having served as a deacon, elder and trustee.
