Funeral service 3:00PM Sunday at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Johnny Wall, officiating, burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Selected as pallbearers are Leon Owen, Dallas Owen, Michael Rock, Cody Lamb, Evan Owen and Ethan Lamb, honorary pallbearers are Nathan Wiles, Elijah Bradford, Kameron Owen and Kayden Owen. Visitation 5:00 - 8:00PM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home, visitation will continue on Sunday after 1:30PM at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was born in Henry County to the late Euin and Essie Lee Dallas Wallace Owen. On October 21, 1944 he married Mary Frances Tucker Owen she preceded December 6, 1996. Survived by a daughter: Norma Ann (Tommy) Rock, Guntown, MS; sons: Roy Gene (Janice) Owen, Henry, Walter (Sue) Owen, Paris, David (Brooksie) Owen, McKenzie, Wendell (Alicia) Owen, New Johnsonville; eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Preceded by a son: Danny Joe Owen, September 18, 2006; four brothers: Carlus R., Elzie Norman, Robert Lee and William Wallace Owen. Mr. Owen was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was a licensed minister for about 40 years. Dewey was a retired owner/operator truck driver and a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran.
