Don Speight, age 70 of South Carolina, formerly of Paris, TN passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Colonial Gardens in West Columbia, South Carolina. His Funeral service will be 2:00PM Sunday, December 10, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial to follow at Walker Cemetery. Bro. Scotty Davis will be officiating. Visitation will be after 11:00AM Sunday prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Milton Peale, Randall Jones, Jim Davis, Jerry Webb, John Foust, and Cliff Evans. Don Speight was born October 12, 1947 in Henry County, Tennessee to the late John E. Speight and the late Margie Taylor Speight. On April 15, 1972 he married Judy French Speight and she preceded him in death on October 12, 2009. Don is survived by a daughter, Amanda (Glenn) Belcher of West Columbia, SC; a son, Daron Speight of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Ann (Joe) Oliver of Paris, TN; a brother, Joe (Margaret) Speight of South Fulton, TN; and two grandchildren: Dekan and Kaylie Belcher of West Columbia, SC. Mr. Speight was a member of West Paris Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Cottage Grove High School, a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Marine Corp, and he was a retired employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
