Donald 'Duck' E. Burdette

Donald E. "Duck" Burdette, age 77, of Henry, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at his residence. His body is to be cremated with a celebration of life and burial to be planned for a later date. Donald E. Burdette was born September 22, 1947 in Gaithersburg, Maryland to the late Orin F. Burdette and the late Margaret Redmon Burdette. He married Wanda Wright Burdette on March 5, 1997 and she survives in Henry, Tennessee. Donald is also survived by his daughter, Sandra (Eddie) Mehring of Walkersville, Maryland; grandchildren, Victoria Mehring, Jennifer Brooke (Mike) Shecter, and Bradley Mehring; great-grandchildren, Dallas Smith, Ash Shecter, Kate Shecter, and Ben Shecter; sisters, Bertha Poole of Damascus, Maryland and Linda (Denny) Roberts of Mr. Airy, Maryland; brothers, Darby (Patty) Burdette of West Virginia and Billy Bradshaw of Damascus, Maryland; also by numerous nieces and nephews and many great friends. Besides his parents, Mr. Burdette is also preceded by brothers, Bob Burdette, John Burdette, Jim Burdette, and Bud Burdette; and by his brother-in-law, Ed "Sharky" Poole. Mr. Burdette was a Christian by faith. He worked as a dairy farmer all of his life. Donald has lived in Henry County for the last 20 years or so, continuing to work in the dairy industry. He dearly loved his family and was said to be the most awesome dad and grandfather ever. The family would like to express a very special thanks to the Dave Leach family, Jeff Lamb, Deb Beechum, Barbara Colclasure, and Kenny & Elizabeth King for their many acts of kindness and care that they've shown.
