Donald E. Ivey, age 79 of Buchanan, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at his residence. His funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 9, 2019 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Hampton of Holladay Community Church officiating. Burial will follow the service in Memorial Cemetery and family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is scheduled at McEvoy on Saturday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. and again on Sunday after 12:00 P.M. until time of service. Donald E. Ivey was born on February 16, 1940 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Melvin Otis Ivey and the late Lillie Mae Ragsdale Judd. He is survived by daughter, Kristina (Ricky) Wilson of Paris; sons, Wendell (Tina) Ivey Holladay and David Michael (Tammy) Ivey of LaMarque, Texas; sisters, Lynda (Johnny) Hume of Oaklawn, Illinois, Elizabeth Sampson of Bruceton, and Janice Nance of Nashville; brothers, Ronald Ivey of Springville, Lindsey Ivey of Palmersville, Wallace Ivey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Roy Leon Ivey of Plainfield, Illinois; grandchildren, Alex Ivey, Justin Flanagan, Cody North, and Ashton Steele; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Besides his parents, Donald is also preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Gail North (preceded: 1987), sister, Margaret Sue Ivey (preceded: 2019), and his brother, Kenneth Ivey (preceded: 2012). Mr. Ivey retired from General Motors of Willow Springs, Illinois and was the former owner/operator of the Tower Sports Center.
