Donald Gene Wright, age 78 of Martin, Tennessee passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 at AHC Martin. His funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. John Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service in Shady Grove Cemetery and family members will be serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family is also scheduled on Tuesday after 11:00 A.M. until time of service. Donald Gene Wright was born December 9, 1944 in Weakley County, Tennessee to the late James Wright and the late Gladys White Wright. He is survived by his spouse of many years, Glenda Nored Wright of Martin; daughter, Cheryl (Robert) Hensley of Martin; son, Barry (Abby) Wright of Marion, Illinois; grandchildren, Amber (Patrick) Reynolds, Jessica (Hagen) Ashmore, Kayle Hensley, Grace Wright and Andrew Wright; great grandchildren, Grayson Reynolds and Tinley Ashmore; sister, Brenda Campbell of Martin; brother, Bruce (Lissa) Wright of Henry; also survived by nieces, nephews and other family members. Mr. Wright was a Baptist by faith. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Donald enjoyed woodworking, including building and refinishing furniture. He loved his family very dearly and especially his grandchildren.
