Dora Mae McClure, age 75 of Jackson, Tennessee, formerly of Henry County, passed away in Paris on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Her funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 26, 2020 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. J.D. Thompson officiating. Burial will follow services in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Named as pallbearers are Dennis Ifantis, Gene Barnes, Jamie Hayden, Jody Hayden, Justin Watkins and Russell Parker; named as honorary pallbearers are Austin Weaver and Kelby Parker. Visitation is scheduled at McEvoy on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and again on Saturday after 9:00 A.M. until time of service.
Dora Mae McClure was born October 12, 1944 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Pete Jennings and the late Grace Adams Jennings. She married the love of her life, Donald McClure on March 16, 1983 and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Tate of Jackson, Tennessee; sons, John McClure II of Nashville and Allan Beecham of Parsons; sister, Roseanne Barnes of Paducah; grandchildren, Tara and Justin Watkins of Paris, Tiffany Moody and Russell Parker of Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Austin Weaver of Paris and Gracie Parker of Jackson. Besides her parents and husband, Dora is also preceded by a sister, Lucile Hayden (April 1, 2016).
Dora was a retired travel agent and still loved to travel. She loved to cook and entertain for her family and their friends growing up. Her favorite thing in the world was being with her children and taking care of her grandchildren. Dora's longtime physician, Dr. Blankenship and his daughters always went out of their way to take care of her and make her family feel safe.
