Doris Irene Bennett Dunlap, age 88 of Hendersonville, formerly of Como, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Elmcroft of Hendersonville. A Celebration of Life will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home at 1:00PM Sunday, November 27, 2016 with burial to follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery in Como. Bro. Tom Winchester will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00PM Saturday at West Harpeth Funeral Home in Nashville and 11:00AM-1:00PM Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home in Paris prior to the service. Doris Irene Bennett was born on September 6, 1928 to the late Wesley Bennett and the late Avis Peel Bennett. On November 9, 1946 she married Charles A. Dunlap and he preceded her in death on July 29, 1989. She was also preceded by two sisters, Mazelle Lamb and Marie Paul; and four brothers, Ray, Carl, Neal, and Daryl Wayne Bennett. Doris is survived by one daughter, Andrea Dunlap of Greenville, NC; one son, Richard (June) Dunlap of Hendersonville, TN; one brother, Thurman Bennett of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
