Dorothy B. Hicks, 97, passed away on July 25, 2017. She was the last of thirteen children, born on December 21, 1919 in Dresden, TN and lived the majority of her life in Henry County where she was currently a resident of Paris Health Care Nursing Home and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Dorothy was a retired CNA and continued working as an in home sitter for the elderly for many years after her retirement. She loved antiques and older homes. Her favorite television show was "Property Brothers" on HGTV. More than anything, Dorothy enjoyed a good meal and spending time with friends and family. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents; James and Lola Gore Hicks; brothers, James Jr., Guy, Carlos and Harold Hicks; sisters, Minnie Alexander, Lexie Grubbs, Aubrey Adams, Ivie Wilson, May Adams, Lubie Prather, Ottie Bell Tilley and Helen Anderson. She is survived by her loving friends, Geraldean Stevens, Peggy Sims, Meggen, Alden, Collin and Alexander Strickland who all were a blessing to her in her final years; and many nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank the staff of Paris Health Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the many years of exceptional care, support and love given to Dorothy over the years.
