Douglas W. Smith, age 73 of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at his residence. A family celebration of life will be planned for a later date and a private burial was held in Bevil Cemetery. Douglas Wayne Smith was born August 11, 1949 in McKenzie, TN to the late O.C. Smith, Jr. and the late Wanna Fay Singleton Smith. He is survived by his son Douglas (Sandy) Wright, Jr., of Paris; step daughter, Amber Bond of Paris; sisters, Deloris Capps and Tammy (Randy) Vinson of Paris, and Gail (Barry Allen) Roth of Magnolia, TX; brothers, Ricky (Bobbie) Smith of Henry, Donald Smith of Puryear, and James (Vicky) Smith of Sherman, TX; grandchildren, Dakota Lynn McAdoo and Faith Nicole Wright; step grandchildren, John Bond and Stormy Rain Eden; great grandchildren, Tytus McAdoo, Serinity Wright and Memphis Howard; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Besides his parents, Douglas is also preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Marshall; and brothers, Tommy Smith and Larry Smith. Douglas was a Christian by faith who loved studying the Bible. He also enjoyed gardening and was a prepper of food and supplies for his family that he loved so dearly.
