Dr. Thomas McSwain Minor Sr., of Paris, TN passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the age of 82. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home. Bro. Jim Farmer will officiate; burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. A Memorial Visitation will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2016 and after 12:00 Noon Wednesday prior to service time at 2:00 PM. Named as Pallbearers are; Bill Jelks, Bernie Sleadd, Robert Sleadd, Russell Boyd, Dickie Mobley, Terry Harrison, and Bo Griffey Honorary Pallbearers: Retired Physicians of Henry County Dr. Minor was born April 24, 1933 in Paris, TN to the late Woodrow Marshall Red Minor and Lona Muriel McSwain Minor. He is survived by his wife Ann "Sandy" Minor of Paris, TN; who he married on August 4, 1956. He is survived by daughter; Catherine (Rusty) Culley of Paris, TN; sons; Thomas (Susan) Minor Jr. of Coral Springs, FL; Paul (Merrill)Minor of San Antonio, TX; Randall (Christy) Minor of Paris, TN; grandchildren; Thomas Minor III, Claire Minor, Anna Park Minor, Cannon Minor, Marie (Lee) Wilburn, Michael (Whitney) Culley, Michelle Culley, Matthew Culley, Garrett Minor, Andrew Minor, Anna Minor; great-grandchildren; Griffin Culley, Lee and Bennett Wilburn. Graduate of Grove High School 1951, Phi Beta Kappa, Graduate of Vanderbilt University 1954, Graduate Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1957, Captain in U.S. Army Medical Corp. stationed at 97th General Hospital in Frankfurt, Germany, Completed surgical residency in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1965, Fourth generation member of the McSwain family to practice medicine in Henry County, Board certified general and Thoracic surgeon practicing for 35 years at Henry County Medical Center, Past chief of staff at Henry County Medical Center, Past member board of trustees at Henry County Medical Center, One of four founding members of the Paris Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and the first chapter president, Avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and was a collector of Indian artifacts and Civil War memorabilia.
