Donald Wayne "D.W." Hughes, age 74 of Paris, passed away Wednesday, October 03, 2018 at his grandson's residence. His funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. John Smith of Fairview Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at McEvoy Funeral Home. D.W. Hughes was born September 11, 1944 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the late Randolph Richard Hughes, Sr. and the late Ruby Smith Hughes. On March 19, 1965 he married Betty Bailey Hughes and she preceded him in death on October 26, 2017. Mr. Hughes is survived by a son, Lee Hughes of Springville, TN; six sisters: Carol Clark, Rosie French, Sandy (Junior) Sanders, Jean (Doug) Walk, and JoAnn Mitchell all of Dyersburg, TN and Lydia Andrews of Hickory Ridge, AR; two brothers: Richard Hughes of Big Sandy, TN and Marvin Hughes of Dyersburg, TN; four grandchildren: Justin Hughes, Hunter Hughes, Britany Johnson and Lexie Barnes; and five great grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, D.W. was also preceded in death by a brother, Randolph Hughes, Jr. Mr. Hughes was a United States Army Veteran and he worked at the Goodyear Tire plant in Union City.
