Funeral service 2:00PM Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Dale officiating, burial will follow at Walker Cemetery. Visitation 4:00 - 7:00PM Saturday and after 12:00PM Sunday. She was born in Henry County to the late Jim and Lexie Wescoat McWherter. On October 1, 1938 she married Alvin Gaylon Lindsey, he preceded June 27, 2003. Survived by a sister: Lera Mae "Red" Glover, Signal Mountain, TN; two grandchildren; one son; two nieces and one nephew. Preceded by one sister: Lillian Wood and one brother: Tremon McWherter. Edith was a lifelong member of the Cottage Grove Church of Christ. She worked for the Golden Peacock Company and retired from the Clippard Plant both formerly of Paris. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
