Funeral service 2:00PM Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bevil Cemetery. Visitation 12:00 - 2:00PM Friday. Survived by daughters: Jimmie Sue (Ronnie) Coburn, Caldwell, TX, Wendy Mortensen, Richmond, VA; sons: Don Mortensen, Henry, Walter Mortensen, Richmond, VA; sisters: Chloe York, Paris, Carolyn Carter, Mansfield; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Preceded by her parents: Jesse Earl and Verbal Edna Melton Toler; husband: Jimmy Nix, husband: Walt Mortensen; sisters: Claudine Frensley , Claire Nell Lankford and a brother: Earl Toler. Mrs. Mortensen was raised in the Spring Hill Baptist Church and was a member of Free Church of Scotland Continuing of the Washington Metropolitan area. She was a Registered Nurse, graduate of Toler business College and a volunteer secretary for several organizations for many years. She had the privilege to help raise two granddaughters and a great-grandson for several years.
