Memorial service 2:00PM Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Fred Shackelford of Springhill Baptist Church and Bro. Paul Veazey of Paris officiating. Visitation 1:00PM Tuesday until time of service. He was the son of the late Ned Bostick "N.B." and Beulah Lee Arnold Townsend. On December 16, 1961 he married Marion Phelps Townsend, she survives in Paris. Survived by a daughter Karin (Steve) Brown, Leander, TX; sons: Matthew Edward Townsend, Cedar Park, TX, Luke Arnold (Shanin) Townsend, Austin, TX; six grandchildren: John, Ben, Danielle and Joey Brown, Kaleb and Brody Townsend; nephews: Tony and Ricky Farmer, Arlington, TN. Preceded by a sister: Ann Farmer. Mr. Townsend was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the Navy, graduated from Henry High School class of 1956 and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1968.
