Funeral Service for Mr. Hendrix will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at McEvoy Chapel, Dr. Rob Martin of First United Methodist Church will officiate, burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Terry Hendrix, Tommy Hendrix, Kevin Buchanan, Brett Buchanan, Levi Hendrix, Avery Hendrix, Larry Buchanan and Chuck Holliday. Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 - 7:00 PM and after 9:00 AM Wednesday. Born March 8, 1918 in Springville, TN to the late George and Dora Frances Campbell Hendrix. On June 3, 1939 he married Mildred Tharpe Hendrix, she preceded August 5, 1997. He later married Mary B. Thompson Hendrix she preceded August 2007. Survived by a daughter: Marsha Hendrix (Larry D.) Buchanan, Columbia, TN; sons: Tommy (Roxanne Martin) Hendrix,Paris, TN, Terry Alan Hendrix, Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Kevin D. Bruchanan, Patrick Brett Buchanan, Lara Ashley Hendrix, Levi Brooks Hendrix, Avery Alan Hendrix, Hannah Tennelle Hendrix; great-grandchildren: Jackson Brooks Buchanan and Madolyn Reese Holliday. Preceded by a son: Tedwell Harris Hendrix, April 13, 1950, sister: Jessie Hendrix Nolen; three brothers: Curtis, Leslie and Campbell Hendrix. Budgie was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he had been a Sunday school teacher. He was First United Methodist Church Lay Delegate, Manleyville Circuit to the Memphis Conference and he was a Lay speaker. He retired in 1975 from Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company with nine years as an agent and 19 years as staff manager. He was a Master Mason and Past Master of Paris Lodge #108 and he was past patron in Martha Chapter #155 of Eastern Star. His hobby was building bluebird houses.
