Elton "Ray" Watson, age 68 of Henry, TN passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 8, 2022 graveside at Glisson Cemetery with Bro. Thomas Winchester officiating. Burial will follow and no visitation is scheduled. Pallbearers for Mr. Watson will be Terence Robison, Devin Robison, Alford Barney, Jr., Jason Smith, Chris Dilday, and Jeremy Villarreal. Elton Ray Watson was born August 30, 1953, in Martin, TN to the late Clarence Wesley Watson and the late Edith Ardell Darnell Watson. On December 12, 1992, he married Mary Kay Allen Watson and she preceded him in death on December 18, 2018. Ray is survived by a daughter, Margaret Bates of McKenzie, TN; son, Tommy (Shannon) Bates of Paris, TN; stepdaughter, Patricia (Terence) Robison of Paris, TN; four grandchildren: Alanta Harris, Ashley Bates, Devin Robison, and Makayla Hill; four great-grandchildren: Kota Staggs, Mya Staggs, Ryder Staggs, and Bryson Staggs; sister, Sue Baker of Gleason, TN; brother, Glen (Brenda) Watson of Atwood, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides his parents and wife, Ray was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rosie Watson; two sisters: Betty Ricketts and Ann Smith; and a brother, Bobby Watson.
