Emma Jean Nance, age 91, of Puryear, TN, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at her residence in Puryear. Funeral service 1:00PM Friday, August 19, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Wimberley of Cottage Grove and Olive Branch United Methodist Churches officiating, burial will follow at Price Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Kevin Bomar, Richard Ball, David Bell, Bobby Steele, Charlie Pruett and Dennis Bush. Travis Sparks, Gary Young and James Bennett will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation 11:00AM until service time Friday. She was born March 8, 1925 in Moundsville, WV to the late Henry Clay Snyder and Pearl Hall Snyder Riggle. In 1943 she married Lathon Dale Nance, he preceded February 22, 2010. Survived by a daughter: Pamela Nance Sparks, Puryear, TN; grandson: Travis Nance Sparks; sisters: Eula Jean Bennett, Moundsville, WV, Leona King, Claysville, PA; sister-in-law: Yvonne Nance (Ted) Hitt, Buchanan, TN; special caregiver: James Bennett, Paris, TN and several loving nieces and nephews. Preceded by a daughter: Linda Nance, three sisters and five brothers. Mrs. Nance was a Methodist by faith. She retired from Burton and Dixie of Detroit, MI.
