Mr. Erby Earl Powell Jr., age 88, of McKenzie, TN died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at McKenzie Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday at McEvoy Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday until service time. Mr. Powell was married on August 8, 1949 to Hazel Estelle Powell who preceded him September 3, 2005. Mr. Powell is survived by daughters; Terri (Chad) McDaniel, McKenzie, TN, Rhonda (Mike) Norman, Paris, TN, Connie Caviness, Memphis, TN, Sherrie Greely, IL, sons; Kenneth (Pat) Powell, Pope, MS, Terry Powell, MI, brothers; Raymond Powell, Lexington, TN, Bill Powell, Dyer, TN, Bob Powell, Dyer, TN, Connie Mac Powell, Dyer, TN, grandchildren; Kelly (Alicia) Norman, Jamie Birmingham and special friend Stephen Stevie Saylor, Dusty Hollowell, Jessie Hollowell, great grandchild; Lucas Norman, nieces; Brenda and Barbara Cox. Mr. Powell is preceded by parents Erby Earl and Lattie Lee Green Powell Sr., daughter; Kathy Powell, preceded at age 6, son; Earl Powell, preceded at age 7, and a brother; Aubrey Lee Powell. Earl was a Veteran of WWII serving in the Navy as a Gunners Mate 1st Class, a retired brick mason having worked in construction.
