Evelyn Hastings, age 94, of Paris, passed away Tuesday October 20, 2015 at Henry County Healthcare Center.
Funeral service 11:00AM Saturday, October 24, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Gary Collier officiating, burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery.
Named as pallbearers are Bobby Smith, Randy Hendrix, Adam Smith, Chris Smith, Dave Smith, Luke Crawford, Will Carlton and Walker Carlton.
Visitation 4:00 - 7:00PM Friday October 23, 2015 and after 9:00AM Saturday.
Mrs. Hastings was born in Henry County, TN to the late Gilbert Horace and Bessie Bennett Charles Tucker. On April 12, 1953 she married James Franklin Hastings, he preceded March 12, 1988.
Survived by daughters: Helen (Graziano) Gandini, Las Vegas, NV, Dorothy Lindsey, Chicago, IL; sons: Dale (Pam) Hastings, Paris, TN, Larry (Beverly) Hastings, Camden, TN, Bill Smith, Paris, TN, Bobby (Vicki) Smith, Paris, TN; sisters: Velma Callins, Tampa, FL; thirty six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law: Delores Hastings, Camden, TN and Pauline Smith, Nashville, TN.
Preceded by a daughter: Mary Sue Payne; sons: Gilbert Hastings, George Hastings, David Hastings, Gene Smith; sister: Bobbie Highfill and a brother: William Henry Tucker.
Evelyn was a member of Springhill Baptist Church and a homemaker. She worked many years at the Sewanee Castle, Henry County Nursing Home along with other restaurants located in Henry County. She was a member of the VFW Post 1889 Ladies Auxiliary, an avid gardener and cook.
