Everett Lowell Taylor, 85 of Paris, TN died peacefully at home on July 9, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.
Everett was born in Prairietown, IL in 1939 to Jesse and Ida Davis Taylor. He was raised by his father and stepmother, Margaret. Everett was preceded in death by his sister Verma Malter and he is survived by his sister Joyce Bush of Glen Carbon, IL.
Everett met the love of his life, Sonja, in Collinsville, IL, and the two were married on April 8, 1961. Everett had a daughter, Laurie Taylor (Russell) Neubauer, and a son Jeffrey (Grace) Taylor.
Everett treasured his role as grandpa to Jennifer Reed, Steven Taylor, Natalie Taylor, and Sheila Sweeney. He was a hero to his great-grandchildren, Isabella Reed, Sophie Reed, Katrina Clenney, Audrey Clenney, and Keion Chestnut.
A proud veteran, Everett served 20-plus years in the Air Force attaining the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring in 1978. He was passionate about the military and supportive of all veterans.
Everett went to work for McDowell Douglas Corporation in St. Louis, MO. During his 17-and-a-half years with the company, he supported such programs as the C-17 Globemaster and the Space Shuttle Program. He went on to retire in 1996.
Everett will be remembered for his love of watching NASCAR, and old comedies like All in the Family and Andy Griffith, and he would not miss an episode of Wheel of Fortune. Everett was a hard worker, a great provider for his family, a loving husband, and a hero to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Everett will be cremated and later laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.
