Fay Ridley Carter, age 96 of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at her residence. Her funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Beal of Manleys Chapel United Methodist Church to officiate. Burial will follow the service in Manleys Chapel Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Alan Paschall, Eric Paschall, John Thomas Rose, and Charlie Rose. Visitation is scheduled on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday after 12:00 P.M. until time of service. Fay Ridley Carter was born September 4, 1922 in McKenzie, Tennessee to the late Snead Hans Ridley and the late Lela Ella Sparks Ridley. She married Earl Thomas Carter on September 21, 1940 and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Reed) Rose of Paris; grandchild, Tamara (Jeff) Paschall of Paris; great grandchildren, Alan (Amanda) Paschall, Eric Paschall, John Thomas Rose, and Charlie Rose, all of Paris; great great grandchildren, Allie Paschall, Addison Paschall, A.J. Paschall, and Ella Paschall. Besides her parents and husband Fay is also preceded in death by her grandson, Mike Rose (preceded: 2014) and brother, Sammie Ray Ridley (preceded at the age of 79). Mrs. Carter was a graduate of McKenzie High School. She was a member of Manleys Chapel United Methodist Church and Martha Chapter #155 Order of Eastern Star. Fay was formerly employed with Holley Carburetor, Clippard Mfg. and Brown Shoe Company.
